The Acura ZDX is really a luxury hatchback crossover with a sloping rear roofline produced by Honda for the upmarket brand Acura. It is effective at transferring different degrees of capacity to individual wheels to maximize traction and grip through turns and in inclement weather. Fuel economy is just a factory-estimated 16 mpg city/23 mpg highway. The ZDX's maximum towing capacity is 1,500 pounds.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Acura ZDX a perfect five-star rating because of its overall score and for side impact testing. The ZDX also received four stars in-front crash and rollover testing. The Insurance Institute for 2025 Acura ZDX Highway Safety gave it a Good rating for both seat safety and moderate overlap front crash safety. The standard safety equipment for the  Acura ZDX includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a multi-angle rearview camera, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and active front head restraints.
